I've looked into them and like the best bits but need to dig in further.

Oh, we just got a soaked carpet - nothing was damaged, it's just a major hassle to move things around in my basement. Don't worry, no warped vinyl or floating CDs!Mitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15500117694201804098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7539490176773705621.post-81299072461797973672011-09-07T18:16:52.719-04:002011-09-07T18:16:52.719-04:00Fair enough. I was wondering if you had already looked into Wood after The Fall closed out their Peel Sessions box with "Flowers In The Rain".

If it's not too prying, is there anything you need to replace after the storm? You can contact me at gmail if you want.pblfsdahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07471473189061385119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7539490176773705621.post-53540725905439736612011-09-04T17:53:24.754-04:002011-09-04T17:53:24.754-04:00Thanks for the tip! I'm slowly warming to lots of pre-punk material - this year it's been Scott Walker, The Kinks, Nuggets-style garage rock, UK psych, and numerous 50s rockabilly legends. I've tried to fall for guys like Todd Rundgren and I'm making headway on Kevin Ayers but guys like Roy Wood still escape my interest.Mitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15500117694201804098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7539490176773705621.post-80617425911616688232011-09-03T20:45:14.843-04:002011-09-03T20:45:14.843-04:00Hi, Mitch. I was just relistening to the XTC Singled Out episode and for some reason when you and your cohort mentioned Andy Partridge's love for Brian Wilson it struck me that I couldn't remember if I'd ever asked you about Roy Wood's "Mustard" album. He's definitely considered a commercial act in England but he's nearly unheard of in this country beyond folks who aggressively seek out whatever's kept off US radio. After "Mustard" came out, Wilson actually contacted Wood in the hopes of revitalizing the Beach Boys. (Unfortunately, all that came of the collaboration was a couple tracks on a covers album.) The CD is on Edsel with all the contemporary 7" tracks as bonuses.pblfsdahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07471473189061385119noreply@blogger.com
