B-Sides show

Today's show highlighted some of my favorite b-sides and discussed the different types and sources of b-sides: covers, great songs that just didn't quite fit the album, soundtrack contributions, promos, etc. In many cases a bands b-sides were just as good as their albums and deserve a better fate.

Punk & Post-Punk Nuggets

For today's show I highlighted my favorite punk and post-punk compilations. I was originally going to showcase my favorite compilations of *all* stripes but decided the music just wouldn't flow going from swing to country to post-punk. I adore compilations that cut to the chase and highlight the best of a particular genre, scene or label. There are those who chase after rockabilly or garage-rock comps, I'm hooked on post-punk compilations - and there always seems to be more in the pipeline.
