Irish show

This week's show was by request! A couple of weeks ago one of my listeners was disappointed I didn't play Irish artists in honor of St. Patrick's Day, so here's an entire show highlighting the best underground Irish rock. Until I made this playlist, I hadn't really noticed how many of my favorite artists were from Ireland, or even that some of them were Irish to begin with!

You can download this podcast by clicking here.

  1. Great show Mitch, particularly enjoyed the more obscure choices (Lokomotiv, 6ths, Glee Club) and the Peel session versions. If you're ever broadcasting to an irish audience we might want to work on some pronunciation differences, Couse, Cathal Coughlan and Dun Laoghaire spring to mind ;-) PS Ever considered in show tweeting?

  2. Oh, you should hear me butcher names from around the world on the "Music In A Foreign Language" show I did!

Thanks for the kind words, and I haven't done in-show tweeting but I'll give it a spin, for what it's worth!

  3. Mitch, this was a great show. In fact, Saint Bob was on Craig Ferguson last night and they were reliving bits of that time when the first British punk wave gave way to the hundreds of bands it inspired.
The Radiators From Space track got me curious because I was really more familiar with the slicker-produced 7" version. I even dug out my copy of the Chiswick Story to listen to while I'm traveling tomorrow.
Oh, and I plugged the show when I replied to your comment. With luck you may get a listener from Denmark. My blog doesn't get much traffic but it's eclectic.
